Participants will:

1. Define strangulation and related but different concepts such as asphyxia, hanging, and anoxia
2. Identify at least 1 key reason health care provider knowledge of, assessment for, and documentation of strangulation related injuries is important to public health
3. Describe the steps needed to complete a thorough physical examination of a patient who presents with a history of strangulation
